Why I Want to Be an IBCLC
What made you want to become an IBCLC?
I want to become an IBCLC because of the love I have for breastfeeding in general and my passion for helping moms reach their breastfeeding goals.
How do you hope to make a difference as an IBCLC?
I hope to help as many breastfeeding moms as possible, especially African-Americans and Black moms. I want them to know they can breastfeed and meet their goals, regardless of any obstacles they might face. I want to be that person, that familiar face, who is there to help.
Why is winning Pacify's Diversity in Lactation Scholarship is meaningful to you?
Winning Pacify's Diversity in Lactation Consulting Scholarship means a lot to me. It solidifies my reason for choosing the IBCLC path and it shows I have a supportive community behind me.
