Black Breastfeeding Week kicks off today, amid a much larger conversation about health equity and racial disparities in care. In this week's Breastfeeding Leadership Series interview, Pacify provider and IBCLC Tonya Daniel explains to Chief Clinical Officer Melanie Silverman how Black Breastfeeding Week can raise awareness about reducing health disparities through compassionate care and cultural familiarity.

The root of why there's a disparity in the first place is the inequity - the lack of compassionate care, the lack of cultural humility. Black Breastfeeding Week not only uplifts the families, but it also brings to light the root cause - that we need to fix this inequity."
